Curb Treasures or Garbage?

Most people probably think I'm crazy, but I have found some good deals in other people's trash. For example, driving home one day, I passed by a long dresser on the curb. Never mind that I had a vehicle full of furniture that I just picked up, so I rushed home to empty out the SUV and enlist the help of my husband to come with me and pick up the dresser. Unfortunately it didn't fit in the back of the SUV so I made my husband drive while I rode in the back with the hatchback open making sure it didn't fall out. Cause good deals like that are hard to pass up!

Well not all curb side finds have happy endings. Just last week I found a really cute children's table and two chairs on the side of the road. I had it half loaded into my vehicle before I discovered a used condom on one of the chairs. Disgusting. I threw it all back on the curb and doused myself in hand sanitizer and thought "yuck I'm not ever going to do that again". Haha which was a promise I probably won't keep.

For the past couple of days I had been messaging someone about a beautiful antique vanity with a mirror and a bench. It was in great condition but painted an ugly green color. Which never bothers me since I see past those things. I was hoping to pick up the vanity tomorrow but the person messaged me back saying she threw it in the dumpster because she had to have the house cleaned out. It made me so angry not only that it wasn't going to be mine but also that someone could just throw that kind of stuff away. Who does that??? If anyone is going to throw away an antique piece of furniture in good condition contact me first because I will gladly take it off your hands! Or at least notify me when you plan to throw it away because I am not embarrassed to take something from someone's curb...
